New Year’s Eve is about starting the year off with a clean slate. But it’s also about reviving things we love. Case in point – this year MuchMusic is bringing back Electric Circus for a huge New Year’s Eve bash! Hosted by RapCity’s T-RexXx and New.Music.Live. host Liz Trinnear, Much’s NYE Electric Circus Dance Party is the soundtrack to make sure you have the best party of the year.
What is Electric Circus? Running through 1988- 2003, the show was like the SOLID GOLD of the 90’s. It was basically just local, professional dancers dancing at the Much headquarters downtown, but it also featured performers like Britney Spears, Pink, Aqua, O-Town, Bow Wow, Bubba Sparxxx, Eiffel 65, and many more. Learn more on wikipedia here.

Starting at 10pm ET/7pm PT on New Year’s Eve you can countdown the best dance music videos of 2011 and check out some amazing dancers by watching Much’s NYE Electric Circus Dance Party. There's more - MuchMusic and 5 Gum are giving you the chance to win $5,000! Stay tuned to MuchMusic for more details on how you could be $5,000 richer in 2012!

Want to be a dancer? It's not too late to apply - MuchMusic is looking for dancers for the show, email your contact info and a photo of yourself to electriccircus@muchmusic.com (must be 19+).

Featuring: THE MIDWAY STATE (http://www.facebook.com/themidwaystate
With guests: Jason Bajada & Shawn Hook

Step one:
Take one part Brazil, one part Newfoundland and one part Alberta.

Step two:
Place in decrepit bungalow, just a stone’s throw from the Red Mile and downtown Calgary.

Step three:
Stir well.

I mean, really agitate these bastards. Throw a table at them. Call them irrelevant. Steal their equipment. Whatever.

Your final result should be INNER CITY ELEGANCE. And it should be oozing with high-energy tunes, angular riffs, thick grooves and pop sensibility.

Now based out of Toronto, ICE has spent the last year touring, writing & recording. 2011 saw Inner City Elegance head out on their second tour of the North West Territories to promote their self-recorded EP “NWT EP” which is now available on iTunes. July through October saw the band touring across Canada with the Mini Van, Mini Tour and the Mini Van, Big Tour. This brought ICE to all of Canada from Tofino, BC to St. John’s, NL. The end of all that touring was capped off by the release of Inner City Elegance’s newest music video for their track “Swearing Like A Sailor”. Inner City Elegance is now back in the studio writing and demoing new material getting prepared to kick 2012 straight in the face.

You can also check Inner City Elegance out on itunes http://www.itunes.com/innercityelegance or at their Official website http://www.innercityelegance.com

LiveMusicTO gets to know Fifteen-year-old singer-songwriter Francesco from Scarborough Ontario. The 5’11 blond-haired, blue-eyed pop artist, the latest addition to Chris Smith Management (Nelly Furtado, Fefe Dobson), is collaborating on his debut album with some top writers and producers.

Share with us a bit about yourself, up-bringing and background?
I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I am of Italian and British decent.

How long have you been playing or involved in music?
I've been singing since the beginning and I always used to sing around the house but I didn't really become a musician until I was 11 when I started to take the piano seriously and the guitar came at age 13.  That's when I began to develop a passion for song writing.  The rest is history.

What have been some of your biggest accomplishments so far?
Some of my biggest accomplishments so far would be getting the honour to play alongside Alyssa Reid and Neverest.  I also value the opportunity to write songs with some great Canadian song writers such as Fefe Dobson, Dane Hartsell, Andre Kaden Black, Tawgs Salter and James Bryan (The Philosopher Kings, Prozzak).

What is your favourite song to perform live, and why?
It's a tie between two songs:  Jealous and Unspoken because I feel like there's a certain sentiment in those songs that is very honest and I believe people can relate to it.

How would you describe your fans? What has been your favourite fan moment to date?
My fans are amazing people.  I really appreciate all of their support and encouragement.  They are passionate about my music and believe in me and I couldn't thank them enough! A fan came up to me at the L3 Club in St. Catharine's (I opened for the Alyssa Reid & Neverest) and told me that I had inspired them to do music; that was my favourite fan moment to date.

What are you most looking forward to in 2012?
I'm looking forward to the release of my album which should be dropping sometime in the New Year.  I am always looking forward to performing more shows

What is your favourite venue to play or see a band play in Toronto?
Some of my favourite venues in Toronto are the Masonic Temple, The Mod Club and last but not least one of my favourite venues is the Tattoo Rock Parlour.

Where is your favourite spot in the city to hangout (either with friends or as a band)?
I enjoy hanging out downtown at my favourite restaurant in Yorkville.  I also like hanging out in the Beach (when it's not snowing).  In the winter, I like to play road hockey with my friends in Scarborough.

For people seeing you live for the first time on December 18th 2011, what can they expect?
Hopefully, by listening to my music they'll be able to get a glimpse into who I am as an artist.
